Information for FMHS Hosts of Postdoctoral Fellows

A quarter of Stellenbosch 肆客足球's 300+ postdoctoral fellows are hosted within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Each postdoc is supervised and mentored by a host and located within a specific academic environment. Postdoctoral fellows are productive members of the SU community. They are expected to make a substantial contribution towards research outputs, while being developed and groomed as research professionals. International postdocs also have the potential to strengthen cross-border research collaboration networks. For these reasons, your interest in hosting a postdoctoral fellow, are valuable to the faculty and university.

Fulltime FMHS academic or research staff apply to host a potential postdoctoral fellow and then advertise each fellowship to recruit a suitable fellow. Awards start from R220,000 per annum for two years, with application closing dates between March and September. Fellowships are possible with the support of Subcommittee C and other funding sources. Enquiries regarding Subcommittee C funding may be directed to Mr Tashwell de Wet at tashwell@sun.ac.za.
