ABOUT US

The Division of Immunology at Stellenbosch 肆客足球's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences emerged in September 2023 from the restructuring of the Division of Molecular Biology and Human Genetics, reflecting our commitment to specialized excellence. Situated within the Department of Biomedical Sciences, our state-of-the-art research unit is home to the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) Ce??ntre for Tuberculosis Research (CTR) and the South African Research Chair Initiative (SARChI) in TB Biomarkers.

The Division of Immunology is at the forefront of cutting-edge research, with a primary focus on tuberculosis immunology, reproductive immunology, and bioinformatics. Our division consists of a diverse team, encompassing senior scientists, junior researchers, clinical scientists, postdoctoral fellows, postgraduate students, research technicians, nurses, field and laboratory support staff, and administrative personnel—all of whom play integral roles in contributing to the success and advancement of our research endeavours.

The impact of our work extends beyond the laboratory, aiming to translate knowledge into clinically relevant tools that enhance health management strategies, leading to improved patient outcomes.
