Health professions education is a rapidly evolving and exciting field of study. The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences offers a unique opportunity for interested candidates to register for a PhD in HPE and in so doing join an elite group of academic experts in the field.?
The Doctorate in Philosophy (Health Professions Education) (PhD in HPE) requires the submission of a full research dissertation that meets the requirements for doctoral studies as defined by SU guidelines. Admission is subject to approval by the programme committee. You are required to submit proof of experience in an educational environment and proof of knowledge of and experience in educational or social sciences research.
Candidates with a Master's degree in Health Professions Education or similar qualification are encouraged to contact the Centre for Health Professions Education (see details below) and provide a brief synopsis of their envisaged research focus accompanied by a complete CV and evidence of their scholarly endeavours to date.
