The department holds regular research seminars where visitors, staff and postgraduate students present current research. All of the research seminars are followed by refreshments in the Department and an opportunity to socialise.

Departmental Research Seminar

Local and international visitors as well as departmental staff present their current research at the Research Seminars. These are normally scheduled for alternate Tuesdays at 17h00 in the departmental library (Arts Building 332). ?

1 August   Lieve Van Hoof (Ghent) 'A pagan plea for social justice in the later Roman Empire: Libanius' oration For the Prisoners'       Teams link
15 August   has excitingly become a double billing. As well as Dr Matthew Shelton's paper on Madness in Xenophon, Professor Mark Bradley, currently visiting UCT from Nottingham, will present, intriguingly, on Roman Noses

To fit both papers in, our usual seminar time will be moved forward, to 16:30, in 332 and online via Teams (at this link?) as usual, and we expect to finish around 18.30.

 Postgraduate Colloqu?ium

The department holds regular postgraduate seminars where students are invited to present their work and receive feedback from other students and staff.  Postgraduates at any level are encouraged to present their work at the Postgraduate Colloquium which happens on alternate Mondays at 13h00 in room 332.
