????30th SAAIR Conference Presenter Information

Thank you very much for your participation in the conference.

Presentations are scheduled in 30-minute slots of which at least 10 minutes should be dedicated to discussion.  Please see the programme for more information.

Kindly note that we expect all final papers by 29 September and presentation slides should be ready and submitted by 6 October.

All documents can be mailed to saairconf@sun.ac.za or alternatively it can be uploaded to your Easychair profile.

According to the Call for abstracts? ?(below) we did request a full-length final paper, but it was not meant to be a requirement for selection.

We are however considering re-selecting and submitting accepted publications for a special issue of a journal. For that, we do need the full article.  Please see guidelines below. If an author does not send a full-length article, we would not be able to consider the submission for a journal.

However, given that all authors may not be interested in this option or have the time on hand to write a full length article, we do not insist on a full-length article before the conference as a prerequisite for presentation, but please let the conference management committee know in advance.

?Please note that in order to ensure the success of the conference we may assume your non-attendance if papers and presentations are not submitted by the deadline, unless alternative arrangements are made.

?This was the original call:

You are invited to submit an abstract reflecting on your practice at both individual and institutional levels under any of the four topics listed above.

Final paper submission deadline:  29 September 2023

All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. Papers may draw from a research report, a case study, or the use and application of a particular research methodology, or may address particular theoretical and conceptual issues relevant to the theme of the conference. The proposed paper can be based on original data collection or secondary data analysis and can be based on quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methodology.

Contributed papers will be presented as oral presentations and will be scheduled in 30-minute slots of which at least 10 minutes should be dedicated to discussion.

Papers might be published as part of a special edition Journal. Please follow the following guidelines.

GUIDELINES:

- The full title of the article should be supplied on the title page.

- The article should be typed in Times New Roman in 11-point font size, in double-spacing (including all notes and references), on one side of the paper only.

- The length of an article is between 5 000 and 6 000 words.

- Do not attempt layout.

- All notes should be kept to a minimum and appear at the end of the article before the list of references.

- Figures and tables should not be embedded in the text, but be saved at the end of the article with their position clearly marked in the text. Indicate clearly in which format they were generated. Please supply typed captions including sources and acknowledgements.

- A structured abstract of 200 words in length, covering the main points and statement of objective or problem, method, results and conclusions, should accompany an article plus a list of at least six keywords for abstracting and indexing services.

- All articles shall be critically reviewed by at least two referees.

- Please supply short biographical details of each author on the title page, as well as the name, mailing address, telephone and facsimile numbers, e-mail address, and affiliation and country of each corresponding author at

the time of the work.

-References:

The Chicago manual of style author-date system is used, that is references are cited in the text by the author(s) name(s), the year of publication and the page number(s) in brackets, for example, (Apollonia 1973, 370), as a key to the full list of all references that appears at the end of the article.

The list of references should include every work cited in the text. Ensure that dates, spelling and titles used in the text are accurate and consistent with those listed in the references.
