The aim of this Programme is to develop and finish the knowledge and skills of students and mid-career public and development managers, who have already obtained an Honours degree in Public Administration/Public and Development Management, in a specific focus area of development, public management and policy management and to establish and promote independent research on issues to promote good governance in the local, provincial, national and regional public and development sectors. Enhancing advance skills in public management law is an additional goal.

Admission Requirements
- A BAHons/BAdminHons/HonsBCom/BEconHons in Public and Development Management, BHons in Public Administration and the Advanced Diploma in Public Administration
OR
- ?An Honours degree in Public and Development Management obtained at another university. An acceptable study record in the preceding programme is also required. An average of 65% in the preceding programme is deemed to be acceptable, although other factors, such as the mark obtained for the research component of the preceding programme, may be considered if applicants attained at least 60% in the preceding programme.

A final mark of 50% is required to pass a module and a final mark of 75% to pass with distinction (cum laude). Accordingly an average final mark of 50% is required to pass the programme and an average final mark of 75% to pass with distinction (cum laude).

MPA (50% thesis) tuition fee total 1 st yr: ±R46 096.00* incl. books (excl. travelling and accommodation you may incur)
MPA (100% thesis) tuition fee total 1 st yr: ±R41 570.00* incl. books (excl. travelling and accommodation you may incur)
Registration fee: R8278.00
*The? registration fee is a minimum payment towards the total tuition fee. It is therefore not an additional payment besides the amounts mentioned above.
