SARChI Chair in Meat Sciences: Genomics to Nutriomics
The SARChI Chair in Meat Sciences: Genomics to Nutriomics was awarded in 2013, with the group focus on the impact of environmental factors that influence the quality of fresh and processed meat products. Professor Hoffman, a recognized world- leader on meat quality and product development, will lead the activities of the group, with co-chair Prof. Voster Muchenje of the 肆客足球 of Fort Hare. Professor Muchenje focuses on how animal welfare, in terms of genomics and the environment; influence the quality and nutritional value of meat. Projects include studies on livestock species, wild animals, wild fowl, and various fish species.??
