As part of the Victoria Cluster, Oude Molen aims to provide a platform for its members to develop themselves academically and in all spheres of their university lives. The community has always, and will continue to, offer a home away from home for students from all corners of the globe. Oude Molen provides an inclusive, comfortable, and enriching environment that supports its members throughout their university careers.??
Oude Molen strives to enhance the holistic development of all its members by offering a variety of opportunities for growth beyond the classroom. These opportunities include leadership roles, sports, and cultural activities, all designed to foster personal development and community engagement.

The Oude Molen mentors are a special group of individuals who dedicate themselves to helping newcomers adjust to university life as smoothly as possible. They continue to provide ongoing support and friendship to Oude Molen members throughout the year.??
Oude Molen prides itself on offering a wide variety of opportunities and activities to its members. Throughout the year, a range of events, from social to cultural to sports, are organised to cater to the diverse needs of all members. The core offering, however, is a true sense of community, where individuals can find a group with whom they feel at home during their time as students—and hopefully beyond.
In terms of immediate events, Oude Molen hosts smaller gatherings such as hikes, art competitions, or casual games of soccer at a braai. The community also places great value on its critical engagements—insightful and often entertaining talks designed to help members understand our ever-changing world, while also encouraging them to form their own informed opinions. Cultural events provide opportunities for members to showcase their hidden talents—whether it's singing karaoke on the stoep or performing on stage. These events allow members to explore their creative sides during their university journey.
Additionally, a wide range of sports is offered, depending on interest, including soccer, rugby, table tennis, and e-sports. If there's interest, efforts are made to accommodate it. Leadership opportunities within the CSC are also available, providing valuable development outside the classroom environment.?
