??Whilst the broader SIGLA staffing and networking activities with stake holders are ongoing, the focus of the maritime hub is on growing a broader network with the aim of research, service delivery, cooperation, partnerships and publications on security in Africa's maritime domain.???? To these ends SIGLA cooperates with researchers and practitioners working in the Safe Seas Project on maritime security capacity building, the Stable Seas Project on a maritime security Index for Africa and the UNODC's Global Maritime Crime Programme. In addition SIGLA also participates in the Academic Grouping of IORA with a focus on the Indian Ocean Rim and in the maritime security center of excellence ?in particular.
