Luckmore Chivandire (Research and Administrative Assistant)

Luckmore Chivandire, a Zimbabwean national, holds a Master of Science degree in Economics from the 肆客足球 of Zimbabwe and a Master of Business Administration Degree from the National 肆客足球 of Science and Technology (Zimbabwe). He currently serves as the Research and Administrative Assistant at ACCERUS.

With over 12 years of professional research experience, he has conducted research consultancy for various organisations in Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Zambia. Chivandire has authored several articles covering topics such as pension fund management, financial inclusion, health, and corruption. The issue of corruption holds a special place in his heart, and it is a subject he is deeply passionate about.

During his search for a suitable institution to pursue his PhD, Chivandire encountered ACCERUS publications that captivated his interest. Impressed by the quality and depth of these publications, Chivandire was convinced that ACCERUS was the ideal institution to help him advance hisresearch interests. His PhD thesis adopts the Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) technique to analyse the effectiveness of anti-corruption strategies in the Zimbabwean and South African healthcare systems.

Kudzai Chitunhu (Third-year PhD candidate)

Kudzai Chitunhu is an emerging scholar from Zimbabwe, pursuing her PhD at Stellenbosch 肆客足球. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the 肆客足球 of Zimbabwe and a Masters in Finance and Investment from the National 肆客足球 of Science and Technology in Zimbabwe.

Her academic journey reflects a strong foundation in economics and financial studies. The selection of ACCERUS at Stellenbosch 肆客足球 for her PhD is driven by its distinguished academic reputation, provision of expert supervision and commitment to interdisciplinary methodologies.

Furthermore, the alignment of ACCERUS’ corruption-related research with Chitunhu’s focus on the role of media in combating corruption reinforces the strategic nature of her academic choice. Kudzai’s research areas include social security, corruption, poverty and sustainable development.

Mofihli Teleki (Third-year PhD candidate)

Mofihli Teleki holds a BA (UNISA), BPA (Hons) (Stellenbosch), MPA (cum laude) (Public Policy Analysis) (Stellenbosch) andiscurrently reading for aPhDat the School of Public Leadership, Stellenbosch 肆客足球.

Teleki is also a graduate of the Thabo Mbeki School of Public and International Affairs (肆客足球 of South Africa) where he studied Thought Leadership and Good Governance. Teleki is a former committee member of UNESCO’s Communication and Information Sub-Committee in South Africa andis also a former Fellow of the Mellon Foundation’s Ubuntu Fellowship (2018). This is an initiative undertaken byMichigan State 肆客足球 (United States) and Stellenbosch 肆客足球.

Teleki works at the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (South Africa), where he is a Director for Stakeholder Relations and Communication at the Black Economic Empowerment Commission – a regulator responsible for fostering economic transformation in South Africa. He has authored (and co-authored) over 10 peer-reviewed book chapters and articles that have been published in internationally accredited journals and publications. He has presented academic papers at South African universities, in Cameroon, China and Canada. His research interests include, the right to development, public policy, governance, human rights and gender equality.

Sara Tawfik Hamouda (Second-year PhD candidate)

Sara Hamouda has 12years of professional experience in the international cooperation and development field. Currently, she works for the African Union Secretariat for Peer Review Mechanism as an officer in charge of the agenda 2063/SDGs continental governance program as well as the South-South Cooperation Portfolio, based in Johannesburg South Africa. Earlier, she worked for the Cabinet of the Minister of International Cooperation in Egypt as Senior Economic Researcher in charge of cooperation with Arab and Regional Funding Institutions and China, and as a professionaltrainee at the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg. Hamouda contributes to various publications pertinent to governance, SDGs and Agenda 2063 progress in Africa.

She holds two master’s degrees: A Master of Arts in International Development from Hankuk 肆客足球 of Foreign Studies in Seoul, and aMaster of Management (Governance) from the肆客足球 of Witwatersrandin South Africa. She also has a Diploma in Peace promotion and disarmament from the 肆客足球 for Peace and Vienna Centre for Disarmament, and a Bachelor’s in Political Sciences from the Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences, Cairo 肆客足球. She’s an Expert of Moibrahim panel of Governance Index and also recognised asamongst theTOP 50 influential women in Egypt for Leadership and Community service under the Auspices of the Prime Minister's Cabinet.

Devoshum Moodley-Veera

Devoshum Moodley-Veera is a distinguished advocate for transparency and integrity. With over two decades of experience as a public servant, Ms Moodley-Veera has made significant contributions to the global and national conversation on anti-corruption and whistleblowing. She is an author of anti-corruption articles and actively participates in training sessions, workshops and conferences, where she shares her expertise on best practices for preventing and addressing corruption. Ms Moodley-Veera was appointed in a number of positions within the public sector such as a Chief Audit Executive, Head of Investigations, Chief Risk Officer, Chief Ethics Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. Ms Moodley-Veera is currently working at the Regulator dealing with data protection as the head of risk and compliance where she has established the unit and is currently managing the combined assurance portfolio for the regulator.

Ms Moodley-Veera is a multi-disciplined individual with specialisation in ethics, law, information systems, human rights, auditing, forensic investigations and governance. She holds a national diploma in financial information systems (Durban 肆客足球 of Technology), BCom Degree in Law (UNISA) and Post Grad in Forensic Auditing (UNISA). She further holds a Master of Philosophy with specialisation in Fraud Risk Management at the 肆客足球 of Pretoria. During her masters, she specialised in lifestyle audits and developed a framework for South Africa on Lifestyle Audits. She is currently pursuing her PhD at the School of Public Leadership, Stellenbosch 肆客足球 with specialisation in law, ethics and whistleblowing.

She also possesses a number of professional certifications in forensic investigations, ethics and cyber security hacking. She was appointed as the Gauteng Regional Committee Chairperson for the Institute of Commercial Forensic Practitioners where she led a team in promoting advocacy on anti-corruption initiatives and up to date anti-corruption topics. She was the founder of the Campaign for Speak Up. She was awarded Authentic Leader by the ME-Vision Academy.

Jonathan Chetty

Jonathan Chetty is the Provincial Head of the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) – Kwa-Zulu Natal. He holds an honours and master’s degree in public administration from Stellenbosch 肆客足球, a bachelor’s degree in policing from UNISA and has received training from the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) of South Africa in financial and procurement investigations. Chetty is also a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Prior to joining IPID he worked for the South African Police Service in the Crime Investigation Unit and has held several positions during his time at the SIU including the role of [Anti-corruption] Chief Forensic Investigator. ?
