As we approach the voting season, we want to again commit ourselves to increasing voter turnout, engagement, and participation amongst students, while empowering election bodies with the necessary skills to conduct fair and transparent elections. We aim to build upon the great strides that our predecessors made in fostering a democratic electoral process that is free, fair and transparent.
We would therefore like to invite interested students to join us in this important endeavour and fill up a post which became vacant within our structure urgently. The individual must be available on the 13th of August 2024 for an interview.

VACANT PORTFOLIO DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Electoral Regulations is the policy officer of the Electoral Commission and is responsible for the following:
* Drafting election regulations on behalf of the Electoral Commission.
* Advising student leadership structures on election regulations.
* Ensuring that conflicting election regulations and policies are aligned.
* Creating all election templates and frameworks for student leadership elections.
* Serving as the Chairperson of the Rules Committee.
The role requires the following skills:
1. Ability to act impartially and without prejudice.
2. An understanding and ability to interpret relevant Constitutional provisions and election regulations.
3. Excellent administration and organisational skills.
4. Ability to exercise analytical judgement.
5. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
